Offer Description
The grants are funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) under the Collaboration Protocol for Financing the Multi-Annual Plan for Research Grants for Doctoral Students, signed between FCT and INESC-ID, Institute of Systems and Engineering Computers: Research and Development in Lisbon, with the reference UIDB/50021/2020.
The call is open from November 15, 2022 to 17:00 (Lisbon time) on December 15, 2022.

Each candidate may submit only one application, under penalty of cancellation of all submitted applications. The provision of false declarations or the carrying out of acts of plagiarism by the candidates is reason to cancel the candidacy without prejudice to the adoption of other sanction measures.
The PhD research grants intend to support the realization, by the grantee, of research activities leading to the attainment of an academic doctorate degree in Portuguese universities.
The research activities leading to the attainment of the academic degree of doctor will take place at INESC-ID, Institute of Systems and Computer Engineering: Research and Development in Lisbon, under the reference UIDB/50021/2020, which will be the host institution for the scholarship holders, without prejudice to the work being carried out in collaboration between more than one institution.
The research activities leading to the attainment of the academic degree of Doctor of the selected scholarship holders must be framed in the activity plan and strategy of INESC-ID, Institute of Systems and Computer Engineering: Research and Development in Lisbon, with reference UIDB/50021/ 2020.
The work plan may take place in full or in part at a national institution (scholarship in the country or mixed scholarship, respectively). The duration of the scholarships is, as a rule, annual, renewable up to a maximum of four years (48 months), and scholarships cannot be awarded for a period of less than 3 consecutive months. In the case of a mixed scholarship, the period of the work plan that takes place at a foreign institution cannot exceed 24 months.
The PhD Research Scholarships are aimed at registered candidates or candidates who meet the conditions necessary to enroll and who wish to carry out research activities leading to the attainment of a doctoral degree at INESC-ID, Institute of Systems and Computer Engineering: Research and Development in Lisbon, with the reference UIDB/50021/2020.
