At the time of applying candidate must be registered in the ORCID system (see: https://orcid.org/ ) and have submitted a completed institutional form for candidate pre-application – PDIP-2026, prescribed by the Ruđer Bošković Institute.

The selection of candidates and the establishment of employment is conditioned by the decision of the Croatian Science Foundation on financing the project proposal. An employment relationship can only be established with a candidate who, in addition to meeting all the criteria of this Call for Proposals, is positively evaluated and approved for funding through a Croatian Science Foundation proposal for financing PDIP-2026 project proposals.

The employment relationship for all positions is based on a fixed term of 24 months, in accordance with the provisions of the PDIP-2026 call of Croatian Science Foundation and it can only be established with a candidate who, at the time of concluding the employment contract, has no more than 2 years of work experience in the position of postdoctoral fellow, which is proven by submitting an employment contract or confirmation from the previous employer about the length of service at the position of postdoctoral fellow. Candidates who have not previously been employed in that position are not subject to the obligation to submit the aforementioned documentation.

The workplace with special working conditions requires medical examination prior to Work contract, which should ensure that candidate health is acceptable for work in common conditions in that line of work. If medical indications do not comply those conditions, Work contract will not be signed.

An employment relationship for the position in question can only be established with a candidate whose period since obtaining the academic degree of Doctor of Science is no longer than 5 years. This period may be extended due to maternity or parental leave (18 months for mothers or for the duration of leave for fathers), long-term illness or clinical treatment and, for candidates with specialization, for time spent in specialization after obtaining the doctorate. The total period from the date of obtaining the doctorate, increased by permitted extensions, cannot exceed 7 years.

Selected candidates who have achieved their higher qualifications outside Croatia will be required, before the signing of the employment contract, to obtain the Ruling on the Recognition of Foreign Higher Educational Qualifications issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education.

The employment includes a six-month trial period

In addition to the application document, applicant needs to provide: Curriculum Vitae (CV), Diploma, e-mail address of at least one referee, and other evidence needed for satisfying position related selection criteria.

Candidate must have an active knowledge of spoken and written English.
