Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Coordinator within UCD Sutherland School of Law.

Applications are invited for a Research Coordinator and Administrator position on a part-time basis (full-time) for a fixed-term period of 3 years, with a possible extension. The position supports two ERC projects within the UCD Sutherland School of Law (two days per week on each project), and convening attached to the Chair in Global Refugee and Migration Law and related centre-building activities.

Project 1 is an ERC Consolidator Grant led by Professor Aisling Swaine (Principal Investigator). The `GENCOERCTRL project' is a qualitative study focused on women's experiences of armed group violence and responses by transitional justice processes. The role will provide research coordination, project management, administration and recruitment support to ensure the effective delivery of the project, alongside the Principal Investigator, Professor Aisling Swaine and team of researchers.

Project 2 relates to an ERC Consolidator Grant led by Professor Cathryn Costello (Principal Investigator), a global comparative study of the effectiveness of international refugee law, using both quantitative and qualitative methods. The third aspect includes to a set of activities broadly in the field of international law and global justice led by Professor Cathryn Costello, with the aim of developing UCD as a centre of excellence in this field. The role will provide key support for research projects, events, networking and institution-building both within and outside UCD in this field.

The Research Coordinator and Administrator will manage both projects, following a project management approach including clear structures, workflows, planning milestones, progress assessment, and all tasks related to financial and narrative oversight and reporting. They will deal with all administrative matters relating to both projects, team members and external collaborators. This will include dealing with external vendors, file and data management systems, reporting and meeting schedules, GDPR compliance and other daily administrative tasks.

The Research Coordinator and Administrator will support the organisation of conferences and workshops and public dissemination, including social media and websites. The role will be a key point of contact for each project team.

We are looking for a person with a qualification in project management and/or administration with excellent communication, planning, financial and project oversight skills, including across different cultures. You will have competency in working closely with different departments of the university to ensure that the projects can each effectively avail of support available within and beyond the College.

Fixed Salary: €41,000 Per Annum

*Project scope, schedule and budget management skills with the ability to adjust where necessary to remain on target.
*Exceptional communication and engagement skills, working with teams.

Desirable:

*A post-graduate degree, ideally related to project design and management or related to the design of large-scale research projects.
*Strong analytical skills, with expertise in requirements gathering, project planning including use of GANTT charts, project resource management, budget preparation and tracking, progress monitoring, fostering stakeholder engagement, budgetary and scientific reporting.
*Knowledge of managing EU-funded and other academic research projects in the social sciences sphere.
*Strong technical skills, website development and graphic design beneficial.
*Experience of managing large research projects.
*Demonstrable experience of managing websites and active social media accounts.
