Offer Description
The Department of History of Art, Architecture and Landscape is seeking a temporary lecturer in art history. The position is located in the chair group of Art History & Material Culture. We are seeking a colleague able and willing to further develop with us an inclusive and environmentally engaged art history.
What are you going to do?
You will independently teach and co-teach existing courses in the MA Art History and BA History of Art, Architecture, and Landscape, contribute to the development of the new curriculum, and supervise BA and MA thesis work. You will also participate in departmental meetings and take on administrative tasks related to teaching.

Requirements
You are an art historian invested in innovative teaching and research. You have a strong pedagogical ethos and are keen to participate in and develop innovative learning formats. You are familiar with digital learning environments. You have excellent social skills and are able to work with an international, diverse team of colleagues and students.
- You have a PhD in art history or will defend your PhD within six months.
- You have obtained or are in the process of obtaining the UTQ (BKO).
- You have excellent writing and speaking skills in English and preferably also in Dutch.
- You can work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary and intercultural academic environment.
Additional Information
What can you expect from us?
- 232 vacation hours per year, based on a 38-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). You can also work more or fewer hours in exchange for more or fewer free hours. For example, with a 40-hour workweek, you save 96 extra free hours, and with a 36-hour workweek, you lose 96 hours.
- End-of-year bonus of 8.3% and 8% holiday allowance.
