Context of theposition
The ARCHERIF projectfunded by AMIDEXfor 4years (2024-28)aims tomap thestate ofracism in FrenchHigher Education andResearch Institutions (HERIs) and todesign innovative educationalresources to improvecurrent anti-racism policiesand mechanisms.Furthermore, ARCHERIF aims to lay the foundationsof afuture anti-racism certificationor charterfor HERIs.
The project iscarried out withinthe Speechand LanguageLaboratory (LPL), ajoint researchunit (UMR7309) attachedto theCNRS andAix-Marseille Université (amU).
The project teamis assistedin thiswork byan internationaladvisory board composed of specialistson issuesof discriminationand inequality,from European,American and Africanuniversities and researchcenters (composition here).
The post-doctoral fellow willcontribute mainly tothe tasks of work package 4 (WP 4) whichaims todesign creative andinnovative toolkits andresources to better combatracism in Higher Education and Research Institutions (HERIs). Buildingon the results of previous work packages (WP2 – international review of best practicesin anti-racismpolicies and education; WP3 - survey of racism in French higher education institutions) and working closely with Fidelia Ibekwe (the project’s coordinator), the successfulcandidate will:
- Design creative andinnovative educational resourcesto combatracism more effectively(toolkits, pedagogical videos, MOOCs, course structures,…);
- Contribute in evolving recommendations for more effective institutional policies tocombat racism inhigher education and research;
- Devise performance metricsto evaluatethe efficiency of recommended institutional policies andanti-racism training inHERIs;
- Test toolkits andresources designed in(1) onpilot HERIs sites;
- Integrate feedback from pilot sites to improvethe resourcesand toolkitsdeveloped;
- Produce final versionsof the educational resourcesin Englishand French;
- Participate in the design of ananti-racism certification or charter forHERIs;
- Prepare the project deliverablesfor WP4;
- Disseminate project's resultsvia publicationsin high impact international journals andpresentations in conferences,workshops and seminars.
- Participate in thepreparation of theproject's closing conference(end of 2027 orbeginning of 2028).
- Participate in implementing the project's Communication and Disseminationplan and in advocacy & coalition building (website animation, identification of associations,NGOs, learnedsocieties and organisationsworking on the project'sthemes) in order to enhancethe impactand appropriationof theproject's results.

SALARY: €2 616- €3 063 gross/monthly (dependingon thenumber of yearsof experience).
QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIRED RESEARCH FIELDS, REQUIRED EDUCATION LEVEL, PROFESSIONAL SKILLS, OTHER RESEARCH REQUIREMENTS
The person recruitedmust havea recentPhD ineducational engineering witha specialtyon thecreation of interactivemultimedia content. She/hemust possesssolid trainingand practical skills inthe productionof educationalmultimedia content (videos,podcasts, interactive games,etc.). Mastery ofvideo andaudio editingand thebasics of colorimetrywith AdobePremiere and/or DaVinciResolve, the useof professionalaudio andvideo equipmentare essential. Practical experience of course deployment on Learning ManagementSystems (MOOC hosting platforms) and familiarity with theacademia is anasset. She/he mustalso demonstratean interest for the project theme(racism, racial discrimination, inequalities). Knowledge about national and institutional anti-racism measures, initiatives andpolicies and experience with NGOs, associations working with ethnic minoritiesare an asset. The personrecruited must justifyat least of two publications related tothe project theme.
- PhD holder in Education science.
- Specialization in pedagogical engineering, creative writing, multimedia content production and screenwriting, scientific mediation.
- Minimum 1-year professional experience in the relevant fields.
- Professional skills: The recruited candidate should possess some professional experience in the following areas: pedagogical engineering – storytelling – script writing - video editing -audio editing- colorimetry-video or documentarywriting - web andgraphic design.
- Soft skills: Aautonomy, teamwork, analytical and critical thinking, rigour and reliability, fluency in Frenchand English,Excellent communication and organisational skills, discretion and diplomacy.
