We are now looking for Research Scientists for III-N power device development with a strong background in III-N semiconductor physics, metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE), cleanroom fabrication, electronics, process integration or simulations. As a researcher at VTT, you will have an essential role in developing and carrying out research on advanced semiconductor devices targeted for power electronics. You are expected to identify and solve problems independently and creatively, while working closely and flexibly with a team of experts. You focus on the design and fabrication aspects of the III-N semiconductor devices for power electronics. You understand the big picture and over time be able to participate in the concept development.  

Our team, nanoelectronics, develop advanced semiconductor nanocomponents targeting beyond power electronics, in-memory neuromorphic computing, and post-CMOS integration. The developments are made in close collaboration with our academic partners along the lines agreed with our industrial partners.  

As a Research Scientist your responsibilities would include:

  • Modeling, designing, characterization and/or process development of compound semiconductor devices.
  • Solving complex nanofabrication challenges.
  • Communicating and solving the problems in tight collaboration with others at VTT.

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • You have a MSc or PhD in physics, material science, electronics, or closely similar field.
  • You have a strong experience in III-N semiconductor physics and electronics.
  • You have experience in cleanroom fabrication of semiconductor devices.
  • You preferably have experience in metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy of III-N materials.
  • Excellent communications skills in English are required.
