The Institute Methods and Instrumentation for Synchrotron Radiation Research is looking for
PhD Student (f/m/d) ? Molecular Interactions in Functional Materials Studied by Synchrotron Spectroscopy
Your Tasks
- You conduct, analyse, and interpret synchrotron radiation spectroscopic investigations to deduce physical and chemical properties of molecular interactions in functional materials with respect to electronic structure and elementary excitations and coupling.
- You apply and develop conceptual models of X-ray matter interaction and soft X-ray spectroscopy.
- You communicate the results through publication and conference participation.
Your Profile
- Master?s degree/diploma in physics, chemistry, or a similar field with a current research topic on spectroscopic approaches and/or on molecular systems and functional materials
- Aptitude to research with synchrotron radiation
- Very good knowledge in the use of modern analytic and computational tools
- Fluent command of English as well as willingness to acquire basic skills in German
- Fulfill the requirements of a PhD at the Universität Potsdam
