Offer Description
Applications are open for one Research Fellowship, within the framework of project “GEEBovMit - Mitigação das emissões de GEE na produção de bovinos de carne pastagens, forragens e aditivos naturais” (PRR-C05-i03-I-000027-LA3.1) of IST-ID, funded by the Portuguese Recovery and Resilience Program (PRR), The Portuguese Republic and The European Union (EU) under the framework of the Next Generation EU Program
Workplan: Drawing up mobility scenarios for specific projects, collecting data and calculating the carbon footprints of these scenarios. The scenarios are expected to cover modal shift situations and other interventions, such as improvements in the energy efficiency of means of transport. Development of a tool for calculating avoided emissions and its manual, incorporating detailed reference scenarios that consider replacing more polluting means of transport with more sustainable ones, among others. Conducting training sessions on the tool.
Duration: The research fellowship will have a duration of 8 months. It is expected to begin in February 2025 and it is not renewable.

Admission Requirements: hold a Master degree and be enrolled (at the time of grant contracting) at a course that does not award an academic degree and is integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution, performed in association or cooperation with one or several R&D units;
Additional Information
Monthly maintenance allowance: the amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is 1,259.64 €, being the payment method (by wire transfer or Cheque) an option of the Research Fellow. The grant holder will be reimbursed for the payment of Voluntary Social Security (up to the amount corresponding to the 1st grade).

Selection methods: The selection methods to be used will be as follows:
- Curriculum evaluation, worth 60%, of which:
- 20% will be attributed to familiarity with carbon footprint topics and life cycle analyses (score from 1 to 20);
- 20% will be attributed to familiarity with Microsoft Excel topics (score from 1 to 20);
- 15% will be attributed to the classification obtained in the master's programme (score from 1 to 20);
- 5% will be attributed to familiarity with transport and mobility topics (score from 1 to 20).
- Motivation letter, worth 20 per cent (score from 1 to 20);
- A possible individual interview (in the event of a tie between the first two or more candidates), worth 20 per cent (score 1 to 20).
Composition of the selection Jury: Tiago Morais Delgado Domingos (Associate Professor, President), Ricardo Filipe Chorão da Silva Vieira (Assistant Researcher) and Tânia Alexandra dos Santos Costa e Sousa (Assistant Professor). Substitute member: Gonçalo José Monteiro Marques (Junior Researcher).
Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.
Deadlines and procedures of complaint and appeal. A complaint may be lodged from the final decision within 15 working days, or an appeal to the Executive Board of IST-ID within 30 working days, both counted from the respective notification
